Fantastic Day & Math Musings
Sun Jun 15 2003

What a fantastic Fathers Day. The weather was glorious, sunny but not ungodly hot.

For the day we went out to North West Trek and basked in the beauty of the Pacific NW and the wildlife of the region. One of the most facinating animals there was the Woodland Caribou. We are told that in the US there are only 40 left, 7 of those are at this park. It was quite daunting knowing that within the confines of this park was just more than 1/8th of the population in this country.

We spent several hours out there, wandering the trails and enjoying the weather.

I was glad also that for all practical purposes I got all of my math done yesterday. Of the 25 questions (of which we are only required to do 20), I have completed 23. 21 of those I'm confident with the answer. I'm kind of sure about one, and one I'm not so certain of. The final two have me tearing my hair out. While I am sure they are problems that can be done, after going through my notes and the chapters of the book this supposedly covers, I cannot see where we were given the information on how to do it. Oh well. I still have tomorrow in which to seek solutions for them before turning it in tomorrow night.

I never considered myself a perfectionist or anal before taking these math classes. I have now revised that opinion. Somewhat.

I think it is really great how you are doing so well in your math classes. Math was my worst subject and I marvel at anyone who gets it.
I sure hope all this schooling examples you and Hubby have set for the boys really makes an impact on them, and they pursue further education themselves.
