Blue skies
Sun Mar 30 2003

We have woken to blue skies this morning. I know it may be too much to hope for, but my hopes are going towards the remainder of the day being as beautiful as it is now!

I am toying with the idea of infusing Lavender in several areas of my front and back yard. I also really like to put together some hanging baskets with marine heliotrope, red petunias and white (Regatta) lobelia for across the front of the house and back patio. I'm even considering planting Sweat Peas in every spot of my yard where there is climbing capability. There is one spot in my front side yard that would be perfect for carnations, but that is on the back burner for now.

Spring is such a wonderful time for playing with what you want for the year. The kids are excited as we are in the planning stage for the veggie garden. This year should be fun. We have two different kinds of pumpkins, one white and one orange, watermelon, black beauty zucchini and yellow squash, cucumbers (and still looking for lemon cuke seeds), spinach and 4 different lettuces, carrots, raddishes, a few different kinds of peppers, cherry tomatoes, and red onions. I'm really looking forward to fresh veggies with our bar-b-ques this summer!

I will be interested to see if #1 is the same with this garden as he has been in the past. He tends to go out and pick raddishes, wash and slice them and make himself a raddish sandwich. I admit that I would have little or no problems going all summer doing the same with the lemon cukes. I love a good lemon cuke sandwich!

OK, now I'm hungry.
