Memories

We sent another package up to #1 today. When we were packing it, for some reason we were reminded of a package we received from Hubby's family while we were living in Japan.

This requires an explanation of the circumstances first. We were located about 35 Kilometers SW of Tokyo near the town of Fusa-shi. Fusa was a nice town. It had a wonderful shopping center with a play area for kids. It had the typical train stations to allow you to go anywhere. The restaurants were wonderful, and there was even a McDonalds not too far away. Fusa-shi had almost anything you could want.

Except a Taco Bell.

Have I ever mentioned that Hubby's favorite fast food restaurant is Taco Bell? He goes nuts for it. When we were in Japan he was quite put out that the closest Taco Bell (at that time) was in Guam.

Now, back to my memories.

We had been in Japan for about a year, when we received a package from Rob's Mom and Sister. I can't remember what it was that was sent, it seems to me it was a birthday gift for Hubby. We both clearly remember the packing material though. They had used Taco Bell wrappers and sacks to pack the box in. Poor Hunkka-hunkka Hubby was going wild as he could still smell remanents of the food. There was a definite and immediate Pavlovian response to this. I seem to remember him even licking the wrappers.

It gave us a chuckle today and we were tempted to go get Taco Bell before sending off the box to #3.
