Christmas Eve
Tue Dec 24 2002

For children, Christmas Eve, not June 21, is the longest day of the year. The anticipation of Christmas morning causes minutes to stretch into hours, and the hours seem like days.

With this in mind, and since Hubby had to work this morning, I took the kids to a movie. For them, 2 hours of today went by quickly. The rest of the day I plan to hopefully keep them busy enough that it goes by quickly also.

For Hubby and I, there are not enough hours in the evening after the kids go to bed. There are always a few gifts that did not get wrapped. Waiting for the kids to fall asleep is the longest part of our day. With it being Christmas Eve, the kids have a heck of a time falling asleep.

I wonder if giving the kids each a glass of egg nog would help them fall asleep sooner? I'll go add more bourbon just to be sure!
