We drove down to SIL's for dinner. Of course being the holiday we hit traffic part of the way. A normally 2 hour trip took 3.5 hours. An hour and a half of that was spent trying to get through a 7 mile stretch where there had been an accident. We were going so slow it felt like we were going backwards!
Once there we had all of Hubby's family and our personal family unit. Dinner was WONDERFUL. Turkey, sausage stuffing, mashed potatos with gravy, cranberries and fruit salad. For dessert? Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Pie. Yummy! By no means a low calorie meal!
While it was nice not to be a slave to the kitchen today, I will miss having leftovers! I suppose I can remedy that by roasting a turkey breast though. I think leftovers are one of my favorite parts of the Holidays. That and the turkey soup! I LOVE turkey soup! Nice big chunks to turkey and veggies in the warm and wonderful broth. I always associate turkey soup with winter. If it is cold outside, you can get warm inside with a nice big bowl of soup.
