I will be heading over to the local Community College today to discuss math classes. I had hoped to start classes next week, but the VA is dragging their feet with getting my GI Bill activated.

The school here has found a way to raise money, outside of tuition, lab and book costs. If you want to take a math class, you have to take a placement test first. It does not matter if you have been to a college before and have math classes on your transcripts, you still have to take the test. Of course, there is a fee to take the test. For every student starting at this school who will be taking math (essentially everyone), the college makes an additional $10.

On to other things....

It seems that there is an eye witness to the sniper in the DC area. Theories are abounding about the shooter "wanting" to be seen, or even be caught. I just hope they catch him soon.

Yep, I had to take a $10 placement test too. Some students opted to take higher level classes if they thought they tested too low. Sometimes this worked, sometimes not.
