Friday morning

The kids have the day off from school today. This is the first of just over 30 days off during the school year. I sure don't remember having that many days off when I was in school! But then, I also remember MLK day not being a national holiday and still have opinions about that. Unfortunately the opinion is not a popular one, so I usually keep my mouth shut.

#2 had a friend stay the night last night, Chris who is a year older than he. I am so glad to see that he has a friend closer to his age than the kids he had been hanging out with prior to this. Don't get me wrong, little kids are fun, but I don't think it is beneficial for a 12 year old to only have friends who are between 4 and 8 years old.

Doing his part, #3 made sure to pester them every chance he got. Hey, what are little brothers for? We finally banished him back to watch TV with us and let the two older boys have a break from the pestering. They took full advantage of it and played video and computer games.

This morning finds them back to the video games and deep meaningful discussions about Mario, and the sub-woofer on my computer.
