Lessons learned

#2 has learned a lesson about trust this week. On Monday he was over at the Youth Center hanging out with several other kids his age. He set his coat down to play pool or foosball (can't remember which) and the coat disappeared. All in all this would not be too bad, except his wallet with his lunch card and all his ID in it. He told us about the coat on Monday, but did not fess up to the wallet until Wednesday. He was afraid he would be in trouble.

So, yesterday we filled out a police report on it, and today we go about replacing the items that were in the wallet.

#2 has learned to keep his wallet in his pants pocket, and not to be so complacent about his belongings.

On another subject, I've been arguing with our medical insurance company for a while regarding #1. There have been some miscommunications about services available to him where he is with his grandparents, and I think I have spent more hours on the phone with them this week than I have with everyone else over the last 6 months! For a while there I was afraid the phone was going to form a vacuum seal to my ear and not come off. I think though, that we finally have things figured out for everyone, and there should be no more issues on this. I should know the first part of next week.

#1 and my folks will be at the airport here next Tuesday on their way back East for a wedding. We will have about 4 hours to visit with him, and are VERY much looking forward to it. Since he has gone to Alaska in July, he has grown an inch. As with most parents, I find it hard to believe my kids are this big already. It seems I was just pregnant with them a short time ago. But like all kids, my children have come down with a case of growing up.

Marriage to a first cousin, uncle or aunt is legal here.
    Interesting.

I finally got away from watching soaps .... but I admit it, I still read the weekly updates. And the magazine covers. I miss the days back in college, about 10 years ago, when the writers went on strike. Ahhhh, what interesting story lines those were!

    >^..^<

P.S. Anyone ever get so desparate for a soap fix that they actually tried watching a Spanish Soap? *raises hand*

I learned when we were doing protein synthesis that first cousins shouldn't marry because their close gene pools combining would give offspring a higher percentage of getting the nasty genes (diease causing), not mental retardation as I previously thought. An example would be cancers running in families.
I used to watch GH (Brenda's back!), but have cut back to Y & R, been watching that one since high school.
