While I am glad to be home, I find that I miss the coolness of Alaska. Our home has these wonderfully big windows that face both east and west, giving us wonderful sunlight that unfortunately makes the house quite warm.
I strongly suspect that during the heat of today the boys and I will venture out to see Spy Kids II and enjoy the cool AC of the theater.
It is quite odd being home again. While I know this is my house and home, the time spent with my folks has emotionally taken me back to my youth. Being back in my home almost feels like being in someone elses house. I walk into my kitchen and feel alien.
I have walked through my house today in a state of bewilderment, reclaiming what is mine. My day has been full of reaffirmations and reclamation. Hopefully by the end of the weekend I will no longer feel like a stranger in a strange land.
