As a result from working in the immediate vicinity of jet engines for many years, I have lost some of my hearing. I thought it was not bad, but Hunkka-hunkka Hubby tells me that it is getting progressively worse each year.
As he is the one who has to shout at me, I take his word for it.
My question of him, why does he get angry when I don't hear him? HELLO, I'm not doing it on purpose! It is not the selective hearing loss that my children have. Basically if someone is not standing directly in front of me, looking at me when they speak in a normal voice, I don't hear them. If I am in the kitchen with all the appliances running, I can't year a word. He knows this. Yet he still gets angry when I don't hear him.
There are days I am tempted to take a permanent marker and write on the inside of his glasses "she can't hear you". Maybe then he will remember?
