Some of the things going on in DD right now remind me SO much of my children when they squabble. Perhaps DD needs to have a mother to send the squabblers to their rooms.
Personally, I read and if I am inspired, leave a comment. That is where it ends. I am not emotionally vested in faceless entries. I care about people, but am not going to fall to pieces if I discover someone's diary is a work of fiction they were using as an attempt to gain attention. If people want to write fiction, go for it.
If someone wants to be personally insulted due to one of those works of fiction, they need to get a life. Harsh? Maybe. Tell me though, how you can become so emotionally entwined in written words by someone you have never seen? When I see various outrages against certain diaries, I have this mental picture of people holding picket signs reading "Boycott ____________'s Diary" and marching in circles in front of their computer.
