I'm down a total of 34 pounds. Woo-hoo! Only a pound and a half this week, but headed in the right direction so that's all that matters. Admittedly I had some "cheats" this week when we were on vacation down at the beach with friends. I was swayed by wine, meats, cheese and crackers. None of which are part of the plan.
The counselors made some recommendations for this week which may help to increase my weekly loss. Tips for maintaining my willpower as well as some food modifications. I'll be using them to see how it goes, and if successful I'll keep 'em.
One part of this whole program which was unexpected was my departure from the daily caffeine addiction. It wasn't required, but the caffeine options for the program are limited to ones I'm not a fan of. Coffee black, or with a little cream. Since I prefer my caffeine cold and carbonated, I just chose to quit it altogether. I do have the occasional unsweetened iced tea, but other than that caffeine is a thing of the past.
So instead of Dr. Pepper, my mornings start with at least 30 minutes on my stationary bike. I've actually found that this works better and faster than caffeine did. I think I'll try to keep it as part of my daily routine from now on, even when I'm finished with this plan.
I'm eager to see what next week's weigh in brings!
