Fan fiction.
I know! I know! Many people don’t consider that really writing. But there you have it. I write fan fiction, and I’m really enjoying it! I’m able to take fictional characters owned by other people to the places I would like to see them go, but places that I know the writers will never take them.
Would I like to have my own characters, and my own stories? Of course I would. However, the creative juices haven’t come up with anything I think anyone outside of myself would be intrigued enough to want to read or follow. There are enough starving novelists out there, I don’t need to add one more to the line, and subject readers to more bad literature than what I already see on the bookshelves of the rapidly disappearing book stores inhabiting our malls.
So, until the creative lightning strikes my mind, I’ll stick with writing fan fiction.
