An interesting change to my symptoms started last night. All week long when I take a deep breath I start coughing. Now when I take a deep breath (this is going to sound strange) my lungs tickle. Or maybe itch would be a better description. Either way the tickle/itch is followed by the usual coughing, but it's driving me crazy. Coughing offers no relief to this itch/tickle, and the bouts of coughing actually seem to last longer.
I am glad to report that as of about 9:00 this morning, when I reclined I no longer heard the funny sounds my lungs were making up until that point. This sound is an odd one. The only thing I can compare it to is the sound alkaseltzer makes when you drop it into water. Kind of that bubbly-foaming sound with every inhale. Of course, as above, the sound was followed by the cough that left me breathless until I sat straight up and managed to get the coughing to stop (not an easy task).
But... I think I'm starting to feel better.
I was joking with Hubby this morning. While my fever has been gone for about 2 days not, I was running around 101 for the 5 days preceding that. Between the fever and not feeling well enough to do anything other than sip water or OJ during that time, I've managed to lose 7 pounds. A nice side effect to the illness! Of course, I don't think getting sick like this as a weight loss plan will catch on any time soon.
