I was back at Sears today, covering for my friend who is with her son in the hospital. He is 11, and was diagnosed with a brain tumor a few months ago. He finally had the surgery for it earlier this week, and seems to have come through it like a champ.
As for my “real” job, I still love it. I am officially a federal employee starting a week from Tuesday. Nothing will change really, except who signs my paycheck and the background color on my ID. Still… I’m excited about it.
I’ve got a box I need to get off to Hubby, hopefully today. Lots of goodies in it, and the beginnings of fodder for another box.
We’ve spent the last couple weekends down at my folks, chopping firewood, cleaning up the garden, and such. It’s been fun, and REALLY nice getting away from the hectic cacophony that is my house, but boy do the little things that need to get done around here sure pile up after a couple weeks. The kids are “supposed” to be doing chores during the week while I’m at work. They kind-of do them, but never to my satisfaction. I guess it’s time to turn into dragon-mom again for a few days and convince them that I’m NOT happy with their performance lately. Neither one is currently working or in school, they can get off their asses and help out more around the house.
OK, I’ll stop bitching for now.
I hate to discuss politics in here, as I know that everyone has different views, and some people are VERY emotional about their views. I saw something on YouTube recently, and while I haven’t checked out all of the facts on it yet (I’m about halfway through it), every one I’ve checked out so far has been accurate. Check this out. Very interesting, to say the least.
It's about ten minutes long or so, just to let you know.
