Two FINALLY's
Sun Aug 03 2008

We FINALLY got #2’s schoolwork all packaged and sent off to the school we are working with, and hopefully we will see a diploma for him in the near future.

He only had the two English classes, but due to a… situation (yeah-situation, that’s a good word) with his thumb drive, he had to re-write almost all of the research papers he had written. Let his mistake be a lesson to everyone, keep a copy of your documents on your hard drive AND back-up disk. That way if you forget to take your thumb drive out of your pocket before doing laundry, you don’t lose your data to the washing machine and dryer.

It was incredibly frustrating. For a good chunk of time there, he could have been doing three times as many lessons as he was doing. Because he didn’t back up to his hard drive on his computer he had to spend that time re-doing old assignments. Hopefully this will teach him to make multiple back-ups in the future.

In other news… I’m FINALLY finished with raspberries. I jammed the last of them today, and now I am facing boysenberries. Not today though.

I was going to do fruit cocktail this weekend too, but I ran out of hours in the day both yesterday and today. I’ll have to let the kids graze on the fruit I bought for lunches and snacks this week. I’ll get more next week. Maybe.

OK, time to become a vegetable for the evening. G’Night!

I don't suppose the school would accept the old "the washer ate my homework" line.

I've washed and dried my thumbdrive *3* times by accident now with no data lost. I begin to realized exactly how lucky I've been.
