#1

#1 starts a new job today. He got a job as a kennel attendant at a local boarding facility. This place is a pet paradise! We've kenneled our dogs there before, which is how #1 knew about it. They do long term boarding, doggy day-care and training. #1 will be cleaning up, feeding, and doing anything else they have for him to do.

I had intended on calling him this morning after I got to work at 6 to be sure he was up and wish him luck (he had to be at work at 7:30), but I got distracted by something shiny (actually a gianormous stack of papers I needed to sort and distribute) and forgot to call him.

He is riding his bike to and from work (about a 20 minute ride), and I wanted to be sure he remembered to wear the geeky orange vest that we have for when we are out biking near or after dark.

Hopefully he will have a good first day at work. I'm looking forward to seeing him when he gets home and finding out about his day.

I worked for two years at a dog kennel/breaders. I learned so much from the couple who owned the operation. I took from them alot more then money. I took relationships with their dogs, extreamly fond memories, information on very important subjects for the health care of dogs that I intern use for the care of my dogs (not common knowledge for regular people), and a job that reminded me that there are jobs that are worth working VERY hard for your income, especially because dogs have to eat every day. I hope that he takes ALL of that and more from his job. :)
