Gearing Up
Tue Oct 23 2007

One of the many textbooks I ordered arrived yesterday. It is the teachers edition of the math book I'm using with the kids. Until the other text book arrives, I'll be doing math one-on-one with the twins. I'm hoping the other one arrives today.

While I love half.com for purchasing textbooks (the math book I'm waiting for cost me all of seventy-five cents with $3 shipping), I couldn't find teachers editions through them. Then I stumbled across Alibris.com while looking for another source recommended by a friend. I was able to pick up the teachers edition of the math book there for $30. They also had the student textbooks, but at a slightly higher cost than what I found on half.com ($1.99 versus the seventy-five cents I paid).

I highly recommend both of these sites to any college students or home-schoolers out there!

The twins are finishing up their morning chores before we hit the books. I will most likely have one of them finish up the English assignment I gave them yesterday while I do math with the other, then switch after lunch.

Tomorrow and Thursday should be interesting for lessons as we have Doctor appointments in the middle of both days to work around.

Bizzy-bizzy-bizzy!

It never occurred to me to homeschool my kids. It just didn't happen in a suburban setting. I guess I would have done all right, what with having a teacher husband.

But, y'know, having kids home 24/7 gets wearing. At least I could look forward to the school hours then.

    More power to you, Mom!!

Are you working with the school to ensure the twins are following what their peers are doing, or are they now totally out of that school and won't graduate from there?
Good luck for the next 20 hours! :)

Some people think that medicating kids is a bad thing. Until they live with ADD or ADHD. Granddaughter was on Ritalin for awhile and then something else, and now she's off all meds. She's still somewhat distractible, but she's getting better all the time. She's actually getting As and Bs now.
