Dad's Day
Sun Jun 17 2007

We celebrated Fathers Day in style today. As per Hubby's request, we hit the theater bright and early for the first showing of the day for Fantastic 4, Rise of the Silver Surfer.

From there, since Hubby was a geek, we made a trip about 45 minutes away to Fry's where Hubby and I were in geek heaven. Hubby came away with an inverter for his truck so he can play on his laptop while in his truck. I came away with an MP3 player. #2 (who is the only child we brought with us) came away with a plasma ball. There was a book there that I wanted, and some software, but they will need to wait for a different payday!

Dinner was the perfect end to Hubby's Fathers Day. I made his favorite dinner, spaghetti. If I'm not in a hurry, and if I have time, I make it from scratch. I put up tomato sauce last year, and today used up the last of it. I need to start looking around for Roma Tomatoes to be on sale again so I can make more this year. I think I need to double or more what I made last year based on how well it was received this year!

I also may do zucchini pickles so I can let some of the zucchini in my garden get a little large in order to make hamburger-sized pickle slices. I will also do traditional pickles, and more dilly beans and pickled asparagus. I thought I saw an ad for apricots on sale this week I need to follow up on and replenish my stock of apricot preserves. I also need to get more strawberries and rhubarb to replenish that supply of jam too. The kids are going through it like crazy!

Yep, Alex got delayed until October. He is going to miss his sister's wedding. :(
I really need to catch up with you.
I trained Shsh with dressage techniques. He is quite the mover as you noticed.
