Civil Air Patrol Activities Take Priority Over Down Time
Thu May 24 2007

Hubby and #2 have had very busy days for themselves yesterday and today. They (along with #3, but he isn’t involved at this time) are involved with our local Civil Air Patrol, and we had a plane go down in the mountains to the east of us recently. They have been spending every moment available up at their squadron helping to work on the location of the downed plane. Hubby is enjoying the challenges that have come up with this, and #2 is in his element, getting to spend every non-school waking moment in uniform and being all official and stuff.

He’s LOVING it.

I’ve been doing the supportive wife/mom bit, bringing 6 pizzas up last night for the hoards to chow on, and today I made a HUGE pot of spaghetti for all the CAP personnel to dine on. I made enough for the 15 – 20 people to have dinner, and enough leftovers for a good amount of them to have for lunch tomorrow too.

Originally Hubby had tomorrow off, and we were going to enjoy spending the day together. Now he will be in uniform and up at the squadron working the radios between the search planes and the command post.

I might have to go see Pirates by myself tomorrow.

OK, probably not. We’ve told the kids that they can’t see it until they ALL have their grades at or above a C. It may be a while before we go to see it!

You wouldn't sneak a peek at the Pirates? You're a good Mom.

I had some time with CAP here when my grandson got interested. At that time the squad was very political and clique-ish, and my grandson got disgusted with the whole thing. I still have his uniform someplace. Nobody seems to want it.

    Pizza. Spaghetti. Oh my!

I hope they find the plane soon.

    Shalom

Sad that a plane has gone down.
You may have to go and see Pirates by yourself, in case you don't get to take the boys, depending on their results. Of course, they'll all do well, and you'll get to see it twice! *winks*
