(OK, lets see if the links work as regular hyperlinks instead of hamipik links)

The trip up to see Frannie today was a blast, boy do I wish we lived closer! She is right about 20 weeks and looks very-very pregnant. I'll have to remember to show her my pre-delivery tummy picture again so she knows what to expect.

OK--OK, you talked me into it. Here was my tummmy December 1989, when I was 7 months preggers with the twins:

This was mid-January 1990, 8 months pregnant with just a couple weeks left to go before I delivered (at that point I had to have Hubby put my shoes on and help with pants as I was completely unable to bend over):

I had the twins at 37 weeks (40 weeks is "normal"), and from what Hubby and I can remember, we think that last picture was taken at 34 or 35 weeks. The twins were 6 pounds 9 ounces and 6 pounds 10 ounces, so you are looking there at a couple weeks shy of 13 pounds 3 ounces of babies who delighted in using my bladder as a trampoline and practiced kick-boxing with my kidneys every night between midnight and 2am.

I should note, that right between 6 and 7 months pregnant, I only wore maternity clothes when I left the house to go to the doctors, around the house I wore sweats and kept them pulled down under my tummy. I was put on bed-rest at 20 weeks, so I didn't get out much, which was probably fortunate. The boys were situated up fairly high and any clothing that "clung" to my tummy was almost unbearable for more than a short amount of time. Particluarly after my (as Hubby put it) "turkey timer popped out". People who have never been pregnant don't realize how extremely sensitive the skin inside your belly button is until it pops out and starts rubbing against your clothes! I was miserable whenever ANYTHING touched it!

I used to turn off the TV and watch my tummy when the twins were active. It was the most incredible sight I had ever seen. It was like watching old footage of the Tacoma Narrows bridge, affectionatly referred to as "Galloping Gertie" (except for the end when it snaps), I was fascinated and couldn't turn my eyes away. The fascination of my tummy held Hubby and I as a captive audience for hours. We got to the point where we could recognize elbows, knees, feet, bottoms and heads. Both boys seemed to enjoy mooning us from in the womb. Something that hasn't really changed much in the last 17 years since they were born.

Lastly, here is February 2, 1990. The day after the twins made their much anticipated arrival:

You know, now they are 17 years old, covered in hair and frequently smell like they are in desperate need of a shower, they aren't as cute and cuddly. But they're still my babies!

OK, enough memories for the night, I've got work tomorrow! Thanks for the great day Fran!

A math prof takes a class I'm in on Thurs. He explained the problems in terms that I can understand. I still don't know why we find the squares of the sides to find the square of the hypotenuse, when I want the linear measure. But it works that way, so that's the way to solve the problem. As to the "least common multiplier," he showed me a simpler way of solving that problem.

Ain't it great to know someone who knows something about the problem you don't know anything about??

    Have a great trip!

    Shalom

The only picture I could see was the last one. What a lot of hair they had!!!

It's been a while since I was pregnant, but I do remember enjoying it, at least the first two. After the first nausea was over with the first one, I was fine. The second went without any problem, except early contractions. He came about 3 weeks early at 8 pounds something.

The third one, I'd rather forget. I was miserable. Not sick, nauseated, just miserable. No energy. I just wanted to get it over with. I realize now why. Dr took me off my thyroid med. That third one turned out to be Megan.

    Shalom
