Today has been a day. Not bad, but not good, just a day. Paying bills always does this to me. Watching the balance dwindle with the writing of each check is disheartening. You would think I’d get used to it!

Between trips to the store, doing bills, a trip to pick up one of the kids from school when he stayed after to look into something, then another trip to the store pretty much eliminated any chance of doing homework before dinner. After dinner I shut myself in the kitchen, fired up the laptop and tried to get my math homework under way.

No such luck.

After the blasted contraption locked up again and again, and was running slower than slow, I finally started tinkering around doing housekeeping on it. After removing some unnecessary software, deleting unneeded files, I tried running a defrag. No luck. Multiple errors complaining about numerous partitions prompted me to run a check disk. FINALLY I was able to get it to run a defrag after much prompting and pleading. It was 82% fragmented.

Gee, no wonder it was running like a pig!

It has been defragging for the last 4 hours. I’m hoping it will be finished soon, although I think homework for tonight is out of the question as my brain has surpassed all thinking capabilities for the day!
