More Than One Way To Gouge A Customer
Thu Nov 09 2006

We were told the van would be ready at 5, and sure enough we went to pick it up after being called at 4.

We got there, and Hubby was looking over the invoice when he noticed a line item for touch-up paint. With the big question mark this caused to enter his mind, he began inspecting the van. The door handle we had replaced was the location of the "touch-up". It seems that when they had to cut a rivet or two to get the door handle off for replacement, the saw cut a rather large gouge in the area around the handle. They thought they could cover it up with some paint, but it just ended up looking like crap.

On top of that, they replaced the battery, and now the van won’t start at all. Nada. Zip. Zilch.

So… the van stayed there. They will fix the battery issue tomorrow, but won’t be able to get to the damage to the door until next week. We’re not sure how we will get the van there on Monday if I work. When the schedule comes out tomorrow I’ll know better. If I do work Monday, I put in for Tuesday off so maybe we can take it in then.

Damn mechanics.
