September ALREADY???
Fri Sep 01 2006

I can’t believe it’s September already, where did the summer go?

Today started out oddly. Hubby and #2 had CAP activities this morning, and my plan was to make a run down to my folks place with #1, #3, and my neighbor and her kids to pick apples in order to have an applesauce weekend for all of us.

We got up and ready this morning, and I had #3 take some things out to the van while I was eating breakfast. He came back in announcing that someone had egged the newly painted front of the house and our van. On top of that, #2’s bike had been stolen.

Rather than getting on the road at 8:30, we were making a police report and washing the house and the van.

Fortunately we had heavy dew last night and nothing had dried.

We think we know who did it, but we have no proof. When we told our neighbors about it, they had the same suspicions. There is a family in the neighborhood whose kids run wild and terrorize all the kids their size and smaller. All the neighbors I’ve spoken with have the same feelings and opinions of these kids as we do. I thought it was just us, but I guess not!

My neighbor who made the delayed apple run with me today made the offer of some used CCTV cameras they have. Her Hubby has a business installing fire and security systems and they’ve got some used equipment hanging out in their garage.

We’re tempted, but we don’t think our house will be “hit” again in the near future.

After getting everything taken care of this morning, my neighbor, all our kids and I barreled down and back in a few hours. We have two 5 gallon buckets full of apples that the kids will be helping me convert into applesauce this weekend. The kids don’t know this yet, so don’t tell them!

I also need to find some time this weekend to do homework, and Hubby and I have a couple projects we need to finish up. It should be a full weekend!

Mean people have mean kids. Have the parents been confronted about their brats?

At least the egging didn't spoil your new paint.
