Realization
Fri Aug 11 2006

After putting the jars along side the rest of the foods I've put up in the pantry, I stood back to admire my work.

Shelves and shelves of pretty jars containing yummy, brightly colored foods on them. I felt quite satisfied with my work.

Then the realization hit me; if we have an earthquake, I'm going to have a hell of a mess to clean up.

Maybe I can convince Hubby to build me something like a horizontal wine rack, where I can keep all my jars nestled in, but keeping the contents of each "cell" still visible to the naked eye.

Something to think about.

I suppose I could also haunt the local grocery stores and relieve them of boxes that have the cardboard dividers in them. That might be a much less expensive and easier fix than building an elaborate network of cells to fit onto my shelves.

Of course, Hubby wouldn't have an excuse to use his power tools if I go that route. It's a sacrifice I'm sure he would be willing to make...
