I'm A Readin' Fool
Sat Jun 24 2006

It’s true, I’m a Readin’ Fool. I will read just about anything. Well, just about anything except Romance Novels. While there are one or two authors I can stomach, on the whole Romance Novels are like Chinese Food. A half hour after I'm done reading I'm hungry for something else.

I live for the days that I buy a new book. I’m like a starving man at a buffet table. I devour new books in an alarmingly short amount of time.

Today I bought Janet Evanovich’s new novel, Twelve Sharp. I spent the day nursing sick family members in the house, and reading the book in the minutes between caring for them. I got it finished in about 6 hours. It was much longer than it would normally take me, but most of that 6 hours was caring for Hubby and #2.

The good thing about how fast I read is that I finish books rather quickly. The bad thing with my reading appetite is that I finish books too quickly. I’ve got nothing to look forward to (other than reading and re-reading the books on my shelves) until her next novel comes out on October 3rd. Unfortunately it isn’t one of her Stephanie Plum novels, but the Barnaby series will make due until the next Plum book comes out in a year.

OK, I guess I’ll go re-read Twelve Sharp as I’m still trying to keep the house quiet and I can’t do laundry…
