My folks place does not get any TV stations (we brought some video's for the kids) or phone service. Two days with no TV, computer or phone was sheer bliss! We puttered around the house doing a few projects. There is still painting to do inside, but the weather yesterday was so fantastic that we focused on outdoor projects for the most part.
We're going back down next weekend, and if the weather permits I'm going to point the whole family to the strawberry patch to get it weeded. I did a little weeding on it yesterday until my back instructed me to go in search of Motrin and an ice bag.
While it was peaceful and enjoyable, it did put me further behind on my homework as I didn't get ANY done while we were there. I'm still trying to figure out how to find eigenvectors/eigenspaces (I think they are the same thing, but the way my book is written I can't be sure about that), find a similarity transformation for a matrix (and then subsequently give that transformation), and find the matrix that maps R2 --> R2. Those are the problems I'm currently puzzling out. I have one more problem about finding a single matrix that defines a rotation of the plane through the angle of pi/6 about the origin, while at the same time moves points to three times their original distance from the origin.
OK, I have a headache now, so I'm going to go in search of Motrin or Tylenol post haste.
