Getting The Ball Rolling
Thu Sep 21 2006

I spent today starting the financial aid search for the twins. This consisted of spending a couple hours on the internet finding all the grants and scholarships they are currently eligible for, and looking at what activities they can get into in the next couple years to make them eligible for more.

#2 was monumentally bored over that concept when I started talking to him. He is currently being distracted from life by a girl here in the neighborhood. All I can say is that at least it is someone close by so I don't have to drive him all over town.

I haven't had a chance to talk with #1 about it yet, his afternoon is currently being consumed with Chemistry homework. He had a project for his video production class today that had him out of classes all day filming the sophmore elections, so I've no doubt that he will have a lot more homework for the weekend from his other classes. The only reason he knows about his chemistry homework for today is that he and #2 are in the class together.

I suspect #1's weekend will be filled with Japanese, AP History and College English homework. I'll keep him company doing the homework from my class. It should be a fun-filled weekend of studying. Doesn't that sound like a blast?

I did use acrylic for the afghan, Red Heart yarn in Soft White and a navy blue they've since discontinued. It's cheap and after a few spins in the washer you can't really tell how stiff it is. I HIGHLY recommend knitpicks.com for wool yarns if that's what you want, all the stuff I've bought in the last few months for shawls and sweaters have come from there. The yarn is beautiful and priced very reasonably, the colors are incredible. Check out their Wool of the Andes line (http://tinyurl.com/qh2wa) for some good color choices for this project in worsted weight. I used Arctic Pool Heather for that last top and love it. I'd definitely order this line again.

:o) I want to see pictures, promise?

It's a good safe company, I know tons of folks who order from them and even my mother is thrilled with the yarns. Plus you can order color cards of pretty much all the lines to see just what you're getting in person before placing a big order.
