Break Away
Mon Apr 17 2006

I needed a break from my math, so I sought shelter in here. Shh... don't tell my pencil, paper & books where I'm at...

I heard from Hubby last night, other than a killer case of shin splints, he is doing well. They have them running between 1.5 and 5 miles about 4 days out of the week. I suggested he go buy himself an ice pack and ice his shins every night in addition to continue downing motrin. We wil see if he does it or not.

The kids all have testing at school this week. #3 insists that he can't go to CAP tonight as he has to go to bed early. I'm going to hold him to that and he will be in bed at 8.

I read somewhere recently that strenuous exercise in the mornings can help kids with ADD or ADHD have better impulse control during the day. I passed this along to #2, and he has started trying to go jogging every morning. This started a week ago, and this morning was the second morning he actually was able to drag himself out of bed and do it. He seems very chipper this afternoon; I'm hoping that is an indication of how his day went.

Ok, I can't hide any longer. Back to the books.

I'll pass that information along to my granddaughter. She's ADHD, but she's been doing better. Still has trouble focusing, but she's working on it. She'll be in 9th grade next fall and a new school, so she'll need all the help she can get.

But jogging in the perpetual rain? She might have a problem with that.
