The Day Ahead
Wed Jan 25 2006

I've got The Dentist Appointments to look forward to this morning, and I'm looking forward to it with something akin to dread. I don’t much like going to the dentist, although the dentist I have is very nice. But going with all three kids is pretty much guaranteeing that it will be more stressful than usual!

I’ve run into some homework problems, the book doesn’t really explain how to do one of the problems for my Discrete Math class, so I’ve been looking online and coming up empty there too. Oh well, if it continues to be too much of a problem I’ll set it aside until class on Friday night where I can ask the instructor to demonstrate how to do the particular problem that has me stuck.

I’ve also got a bunch of Statistics homework piling up behind my slow moving Discrete Math homework. Ugh. I need to not worry about laundry and dishes today and find a way to focus on getting through as much of the homework as possible. Hubby has the next two days off including the weekend, and I’d like to spend some time with him and not be stuck behind my school books the whole time!

OK, off to build fires under the kids to get them to move more quickly!

Slowly Going Stir Crazy

Almost 3 ½ hours. That is how long we sat in the dentist office. When it became apparent that I would be seen last, and the kids were becoming more and more restless and touchy, I re-scheduled my appointment for next week.

After sitting in that teeny-tiny waiting room for almost 3 ½ hours with the kids, I SO deserve chocolate. I've given the kids each a chore or two to do and I'm going to simulate a state of relaxation until they are done, then take whichever one is being the most irritable with me to the store and peruse the Ben & Jerry’s selection currently available. My mission is to come home with enough chocolate flavored sugary substance to put me in a sugar coma for the rest of the day. OK, maybe not a sugar coma, but I at least want a good sugar buzz going on for a while.

So dicrete math.... I looked it up again.... So according to the internet definition, it's math tht doesn't have anything to do with anything.

"in the sense of not supporting or requiring the notion of continuity"

    Hey, I get that......

    NOT!

And to think, you have HOMEWORK about this!

I'm so glad you are covering this base for me.
I'll cover the Quack Therapy for you okay?

    It's a deal. ;-)

Three and a half hours??!! Doesn't your dentist schedule and keep appointments? That's outrageous!

I got some Ben & Jerry's because I've been yearning for ice cream. Even in this weather! Have you tried Chunky Monkey? Banana flavored with chunks of chocolate and nuts. Mmmmm!

RYC about Lisinoprol: When I was in the hospital, my potassium was low. I commented to the nurse that I hadn't had my daily banana, and she said that I was almost exactly low enough to account for one banana. But I got the IV potassium instead of a banana.
