I want to go on record here by saying that it was a mistake.
I was baking chocolate chip cookies tonight, and as usual the house was a zoo. I got all the dry stuff mixed together in one bowl, then started on the "wet" stuff in the larger bowl. I creamed the butter and sugars, added the vanilla and about that time Indigo and Shelby decided to play tag through the house.
I pushed everything away from the edge of the counter, and spent the next 15 minutes chasing and catching the dogs, kenneling Shelby with a pig ear to get her to calm down, and placing Indigo in the other room with a pig ear to calm her down. I then went back to the cookies.
I added the dry ingredients, got it all mixed together, put the chips in and got them started cooking. I did notice that the dough seemed much drier than usual, but I attributed that to my using whole wheat flour rather than bleached.
Have you spotted my mistake yet?
When I pulled the first batch out of the oven, they looked REALLY strange. I went to put the next batch together after emptying off the cookie sheet, and that is when I saw them. The two eggs that I was supposed to put in before mixing in the dry ingredients.
Well, they have a very strange texture, but the taste is OK. I guess I can bill them as being VERY low fat and cholesterol!
The next time I do baking, I'm going to corral the dogs before I get started!
