Thanksgiving Thoughts
Thu Nov 03 2005

I saw the neatest idea today for Thanksgiving.

Rather than serving the various dishes in your typical casserole's and serving dishes, go and buy a few different types of squash from the store.  Hollow them out like you would a pumpkin at Halloween, but instead of carving into them after that, use them as serving dishes.

After the meal, you can keep them out in the yard for a couple days to attract birds to a quick & easy meal for them, then throw it away or add it to your compost pile.

You will have an interesting addition to your table, and fewer dishes to do after dinner!

What a fabulous idea....one question tho...does one have to eat the squash...or can it be fed to the birds as well? lol...

    sHiNe...<~~not accustomed to eating squash!
(cos it's ewwy an gooey...but that's just my highly picky opinion!)

I always get on DD it seems when I'm at school instead of doing homework too. Anyway, that idea for the thanksgiving squash sounds interesting; I'll have to introduce that to my Grandma and see what she says. Have a great day.
