The boys have renamed Shelby. Her new name (according to them) is Demon Pup From Hell.
Needless to say Hubby and I aren't really on board with this new name. Personally I was thinking that Whirling Dervish sounded like a more accurately descriptive name for her. Hubby is sticking with Shelby.
Shelby is growing like a weed. Actually, I think she is growing faster than a weed. I've noticed on the walks I take her on she is slowing down. On the flip side in the house she is winding up. Maybe I need to up the amount of walks I take her on. Maybe I should cut down the length of the walks and increase the frequency of them. It can't hurt to try.
I need to find a Puppy Kindergarden class to take her to. I've looked around a little, and there are none starting in the near future. I'll keep looking and hopefully find something that starts in the next few weeks. She is definitely getting to the point where some more manners than what I've worked with her on so far are needed.
I also armed everyone in the family with Sweet Breath. This is like Binaca Blast, basically a breath spray. Dogs HATE it. When they do something you don't want them to do, give them a spray in the mouth with it and reprimand them. They dislike this so much that it usually only takes a time or two to correct the undesireable behavior. Barking, biting, digging, you name it. It works for everything.
Who'd have thought that breath spray would be the best friend of new puppy owners around the world? In the absence of breath spray, lemon or lime juice in the little plastic squeezable containers works wonders also.
