It turns out our looking at different cars on Friday was a timely activity.
We had no intention of buying a new car after we came home on Friday. We were set with sticking with what we had and enjoying it until we were in a position for Hubby to get his dream Mustang GT with all the bells and whistles.
Then yesterday rolled around.
Hubby was juggling the cars around, and we noticed that the truck seemed to be having problems. The more we listened, the more we realized that the truck needed a lot of work. We had taken it in for some warranty work a few months back, and had them look it over head to toe and let us know what all it needed to have done besides what it was in for. The bottom line for all the maintenance was more than double of what the blue book was on the truck at that point.
We thought we could let it go, and do a little bit at a time to get it into ship shape. But now we ran out of time.
We drove it into the dealer tonight to see what kind of deal we could work out. The Chrysler dealers offered us a grand more on trade-in value than we thought we would get. That on top of the Employee Pricing deal they are currently having and an extremely low interest rate convinced us.
We are now the new owners of a Cool Vanilla PT Cruiser GT. It has all the bells and whistles that Hubby wanted, and the color I wanted. And the best part, the monthly payment is about $60 less than I thought it would be. Ya GOTTA love that!
