I’ve got one quart and 9 pints of Dilly Beans done, and I just need to do the cucumbers now and I’ll be done for the day. I’m waiting to do those after dinner when it starts to cool off and there won’t be as many people coming through the kitchen. When there are too many kids in the house I’m nervous about having so much boiling water on the stove.
I need to get more beans to put up next week so we have enough for the kids to snack on and to have with dinner occasionally. For this week though I’m finishing the cucumbers then focusing on the camping trip.
I also want to get the kids out to pick blackberries in the next couple weeks so I can put up jam and pie filling. I’ve got recipes for blackberry, apple and peach pie filling, and those are three I definitely want to put up.
Then we get back around to apples. The kids and Hubby have eaten all the applesauce I made a while back, so I need to make more. I’m thinking I should considering making three to five times the amount I made last time. Then it might last longer than a couple months!
