Strange Dreams
Tue Aug 09 2005

I had the most bizarre dream last night. It was mostly about a friend I haven’t seen in more than 20 years, and the show Survivor.

In this dream, my friend was pregnant. She got to choose 16 friends, and her husband to participate in Survivor, Baby Shower with her.

Her husband was being pissy about the whole thing, so the producers of Survivor sent him home and brought in Bruce Willis to stand in for her hubby.

It was on some island in the middle of the ocean, and for the most part just like all the other Survivors. The exception was that during tribal council she made the decision as to who was voted off based on who was the least helpful in taking care of her during the pregnancy.

It was truly odd. I’m not sure what I ate last night to give me this dream, I need to find out.

Another strange thing was, this is like the 4th dream I’ve had in the last month with Bruce Willis in it. I’m not really a big fan of his. I’ve enjoyed a couple of his projects, but that’s it. I haven’t seen anything with him in it lately either, so I’m not sure where he fits into my subconscious.

considering I had a dream about a sewer back-up last night, I don't really wish to link it in any way to the chicken I had for dinner nor the raspberry donut I shouldn't have eaten for dessert, lol.

Your comments about school days is right on!

When I went to school (back in the Dark Ages) kids weren't excused for Teacher Training days. Nope. Teachers went to summer school for teacher training, or spent part of their weekends.

Half days? Not in my school district. Memorial Day? We were in school studying history and civics. A one-hour assembly to salute heros, and hear speeches by local role models.

I think we had a week or 10 days at Christmas. But "spring break" was a 3-1/2-day weekend at Easter. Half day on Good Friday.

    And the teachers were respected!!

    Shalom

I remember going back to school right after labor day in Sept/out the last wk of May (when everyone graduated from hs). We got 2 wks at Christmas and the WHOLE summer to play. Now, the system we have is very similar to what you described with the exception of the half days. I sort of miss that type of schedule. Its my understanding that eventually our school system will move to a year round program and this concept is being tried out in some school districts. Who knows. My kids start this week (tomorrow to be exact)so its back to the grind!

    Have a great Wednesday! :)
