Getting Back Into The Swing Of Things
Fri Aug 05 2005

#2 wants to be on the golf team again this year at his new school. With that in mind he has been doing things to get back into the golf mentality. Yesterday evening he spent time with Hubby at a morale building golf mini-tournament. He mostly caddied for Hubby, but Hubby did let him play a couple of the holes for him.

Meanwhile #1 has been trying to “borrow” various tools and scraps of lumber from the house to build a tree fort out in the woods. Most recently he tried to convince me to let him take one of the shovels out to the woods.

“What do you need a shovel for?” I asked.

“The Tree Fort!” came his reply.

“Why does a Tree Fort need a shovel?” I queried.

“… to dig holes,” #1 countered.

“Are you planning on digging a hole, pooping in it then covering it up?” I grilled.

“Um … no?” came his uncertain (and horrified at the thought of what I suggested) reply.

“Then, what do you need a shovel for?” I again asked.

“Never mind,” came the disgruntled response as he went to put the shovel away.

Once again, Mom was victorious.

I have to cherish these little victories when I can get them!

I am wondering how much a gallon of milk is from this dairy?
    I think I paid $2.29 (*plus tax = $2.44) on sale last time I got a gallon.
We are not big milk drinkers here
I do recall having door service when my kids were little though. You could order bread, cheese, cottage cheese, cream, and everything was very fresh.. left at your door around 5:40 each morning.

I think it's easier to get them thoroughly pickled when they're sliced. But if you plan to do them whole, then whole it is.
