All was going well until he and his friends were on the trampoline in the back, and he decided he needed to show off a little for one of the girls. This resulted in landing on the tramp with his foot curled under him instead of flat. While we have a "cage" around the trampoline to prevent anyone from being bounced off onto the ground, there is no preventing the minor injuries caused from landing incorrectly on the tramp itself.
Being (as he fancies himself to be) a macho young stud, he didn't say anything about it, and kept walking around on it despite extreme pain.
Well, tonight we made a run into the ER when he finally admitted that it really hurt and he could no longer put any weight on it whatsoever.
It's not broken, but he is in a splint and on crutches with instructions to stay off it, keep it elevated and iced for a couple weeks.
The thing he is most upset about is missing Tae Kwon Do for that time. I didn't have the heart to mention to him that it will probably be a bit longer until he is up to doing that, even if he is staying off it for now.
