7 Quarts and 4 Pints and 11 of Something Else

Of cherries. They are out of the canner and TINGing one by one, and such beauties they are! Boy am I looking forward to them later in the year when cherries are nowhere to be found. I may have to go get more to put up. Cherries are one of my favorite fruits, and boy are they yummy when you can't get them in any store!

As for the 11 of something else, that would Janet Evanovich's new Stephanie Plum Novel, Eleven On Top. I got it yesterday and made the mistake of starting to read it around 8:30 last night. The next thing I know, I'm finishing the book and it is 2:17.

Oops. Oh well, it was a good book!

I admit it, I am a book glutton. If I start reading a book that captures my attention, I can’t put it down until I’m finished with it. Last night was not the first time this has happened. When the last Harry Potter book came out, I started at about 9 in the evening and finished at around 4:30 or 5 the next morning. I can’t stop once I’ve started.

What I need to do is learn to exercise some will power when reading these books. Either that or start them earlier in the day.

I’m opting for the second choice there when the next Harry Potter book comes out. Hubby thinks this is a touch of OCD on my part. Maybe. I do tend to obsess on some things, but I don’t know that I would call myself OCD.

OK, I’m off to re-wash all the dishes and re-fold all the laundry.

I meant to pass on to you, that if you have some odd bits of fruit left over, don't be afraid to make jam out of mixed fruits. My favorite batch last year was strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry. The stuff is delicious. Complex and unusual.

I thought I had arrived at the wrong diary! It's pretty in here. Like English wallpaper done in the French manner. :-)

We used to have a rule about canned stuff. We didn't start eating it until school started. I'm such a control freak! ;-)

My kids have done that to me before and it drove me nuts...for a minute. At least your kids like cherries so that is a good thing. My mother would put up strawberries, figs, grapes and apples too in addition to the jellies, jams and vegetables. Don't forget the pickles! One must have pickles too! Although I have to say my favorite is dill pickles. I never was into the bread & butter pickles or other ones. Strictly dill. :)

I always opt to color my hair when I need a change. I am not computer literate enough to do my diary on a regular basis. LOL!!

    Have a great weekend!!
