Working with the A's

So, I'm doing apples and asparagus today, I’ll do the apricots tomorrow. I’m thoroughly enjoying watching my pantry shelves fill up!

Earlier today I ran some errands with #1 before getting started with the canning. We made a run to Lowes to get some Petunias for the yard; I also picked up a couple pepper plants.

I had several seedlings started of peppers, some flowers I was planning to transplant when I got home from the week at my Bro’s and a couple other things. While I was gone though, I forgot to take them out of the little green house I’ve got on my back patio. With the hot sunny weather that week, they all got burned to a crisp, so much for those. I was most particularly upset to lose the seedlings from the snail vine seeds I got on e-bay a while back. Those suckers were an expensive loss.

Oh well, no use crying over burned plants.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not taking any classes this term. It feels very strange not to go to class, and more importantly, not to have homework. Don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoying the extra time, it just feels very strange.

There is a new family that moved in up the street, they have a girl the twin’s age. She is rather cute, and very nice, and has both #1 and #2 wrapped around her finger. I don’t think they care; particularly when she has a couple girlfriends over visiting and brings them down to meet the twins. They are as happy as pigs in mud to be surrounded by cute girls.

Sounds like the twins are enjoying the new neighborhood
    ;P
when you do your asparagus do you freeze? or bottle?
If bottle would you tell me how? Is it just a hot water bath with some salt?
I love fresh asparagus and have froze it many times, but never thought of bottling it. I think it may get too mushy for me..
Do you par boil it before bottling..

We grew banana peppers and tomatos last year. Nothing this year. But the rose bushes have done a wonderful job of looking lovely. They were here when I moved into the house but I tend them as if they were my own. Unfortunately, my "green thumb" is non-existant so its a good thing those bushes have managed without too much from me.

My mother cans alot of things. I will usually take things to her because I can't seem to manage that very well either BUT I can clean a house! LOL!!

    Have a pleasant Sunday!

The twins happy as pigs in mud. My boys were socially retarded, so I didn't see any of that. Wasn't until they were out of high school that they finally blossomed.

    All that canning sounds wonderful.
