I’m also working on playing catch-up with the laundry. Going a week without a washer and dryer has created several mountains of dirty laundry. I think I’m about half way done with it, and with any luck will be as caught up as anyone can get with laundry by the end of the weekend.
Yesterday was Hubby and my 16th anniversary. We were going to go see a movie, but the dynamic behavior of the kids encouraged us to rent a couple movies and stay in. I’m hoping to see Be Cool in the upcoming weeks, so I rented Get Shorty to refresh our memories of what the movie was about. I remembered the gist, but not the details.
As an anniversary present to ourselves, we bought new dining room furniture. We have a gathering table (why they don’t just call it a tall dining table is beyond me) with eight chairs, and a sideboard to match. We love having it and being able to sit more comfortably at the table together. The table we are replacing was a perfect size when the kids were much younger, but it has been getting more and more crowded as the boys grew.
One thing about the new house has really brought home how old Indigo is. The stairs. She can get up them with no problem, but going down is another thing. She gets stuck at the top, being afraid to come down and having a great deal of difficulty when she does finally work up the nerve to descend them. Taking her out for walks is also making us more aware of her age. She can’t go a block without exhibiting the extent of her arthritis. We are not ready to face this so soon after losing Rocky. I’m adding aspirin and glucosamine-chondroitin to her meals for the time being, and blocking off the stairs so she can’t get up them.
