Iraq Votes
Sat Jan 29 2005

It is a momentous day for the Iraqi people, and I desperately hope the incidents of violence are at a minimum today so they can make their voices heard.

The polls have been open a scant 2 hours, and the news of incidents has begun to trickle across the news channels. The one so far that has me the most surprised are the riots in Sydney.

This will be interesting to watch unfold. With so many candidates, it will be no where near as cut and dried as elections are in other countries. With luck, and a few years for the Iraqi citizens to figure it all out, I hope to see more stability come to that country and region.
