Buckets Of Money?
Mon Jan 17 2005

What is it about paying bills that gives one such mixed feelings? On one hand I'm glad it is done and I feel a sense of accomplishment. On the other hand I look at my now depleted accounts and wonder what the heck happened.

We had a few hundred dollars worth of unexpected finances this month that has left more than a few moths inhabiting the account. At this point there is only one other payment ahead of us that is out of the ordinary, and after that we should (hopefully) begin to realize Hubby's pay raise when factoring in all of the bill payments we have coming up.

The one thing we are excited about is this year’s tax return. We are fairly sure it will be enough to pay off the van (putting us 8 months ahead of schedule for that) and possibly finish padding the account we have set aside for putting in the fence after we move in. At last estimate, the fence will cost in the neighborhood of $4K (which is estimating high in the case we overlooked something). It will be a relief to know we have everything in place to put that in as we will be unable to put up the trampoline and dog run until after the fence is in place (as per the covenants of the neighborhood).

After that monetary bucket is emptied, we start padding the one set aside for building a second pad in the back yard for a hot tub. We are hoping to have that in and paid for within a year or so of moving in. With Hubby’s back getting more and more out of whack, we think this might be something definitely worth having in place as soon as possible. It might be considered frivolous by many, but we are hoping it helps his recovery times when he has back issues (which amounts to a dozen or more times a year at this point).

Our anticipation over the upcoming move is becoming almost palpable. Hubby has a trip coming up next month that he has begun to look forward to as it will help the time go by faster for him. It will be my mission during that time to get out to the house a few times and photograph everything so he doesn’t miss anything. I’m sure the kids will LOVE helping me do this!

Always wise to put back something for a rainy day.
I am struggling to get all my bills caught up and paid off, then to buy a new car. One with a warrantee... Oh the joy. I've never had a new car.. not that new to have warrantee.. In my 55 years of life
Well, only been buying my own cars for the past 40 yrs but never a new one. Have bought a house though and share your joy and excitement!

Isn't it amazing that you can feel rich with an overflowing account in one minute and in the next minute, you are once again broke.
    The story of my life.

I just like writing checks for bills. I finally got some pretty checks and the only thing I use them for are my bills. I use my bank card everywhere else. I wish bills were every other month though. It gets to be a pain remembering every month to pay stuff. Espeically in Feb.

The lupron puts me into a menopausal state. It's for endometriosis. I've had hot flashes up the wazoo. I go and do laundry and feel like I'm burning up. One day after I got my shot I was near the hospital and I was like the only car to pull over for an ambulance and I was sitting there sobbing because no one else pulled over. It was bad. LOL

I'll be glad to be back to good old depo. At least then I'll be normalish.
