Winding Down
Sun Nov 28 2004

The day is coming to an end and I am reluctant to let go of the holiday and our down time. The busy week ahead calls to us all, and I go towards it kicking and screaming.

I have the kids in various stages of getting ready for the week ahead. I need to whip up a note for #2 to take to PE and swim practice tomorrow as he managed to injure one of the toes on one of his feet. He thinks it is broken, but lack of swelling and easing off of the pain as the day goes by tells me it is more likely sprained or bruised. I’ll be having the kids make their lunches after a bit, and when the washer is done and the hot water tank has rested a bit, I will be sending the kids off to take showers.

I’m afraid that saying what I’m about to say will jinx it, but I think I managed to get all of the laundry done today. I’m sure now that I’ve said it, laundry elves and pixies will manifest piles and piles of unwashed stinky clothes. I’m going to keep my eyes closed whenever I go to the areas the clothes are normally deposited in so as to keep up the impression of having it all done.
