I Don't Understand
Sun Nov 07 2004

I overheard someone at the store today who thinks that a recount of several states should be called in order to prove what she believed was a gross miscount of votes. She proclaimed that if Dubya stays in office, she and her family would seriously consider moving to Canada.

I don't get it.

I can understand being upset over your candidate not winning. What I don't understand is the extreme despondent response to the election.

It is only 4 years we are talking about here. They may not be the 4 years that some people wanted, but if they are not as good as people think they should be, there will be another election. Who knows, maybe Hilary will be elected then. Personally I'd like to see Rudolph Guiliani on the ticket, but that's just me.

Four years ago, I remember seeing Cher being interviewed by someone about the upcoming elections. She was in tears, expressing her fear at what she believed would happen to the country should Bush be elected into office. She proclaimed that should that happen she would move to a different country (London or Paris sticks in my mind, but I can’t remember for sure which it was) as she couldn’t live in a country that would elect him into office.

I wonder how that worked out for her?
