Hubby and I went out to pay the lumber drop fee for the house (which thankfully was about $3K less than we thought it would be) and went onto the lot to take some measurements in order to start guesstimating how much putting in a fence will be.
After spending about 45 minutes walking around on our dirt and taking measurements of everything (and then some) we headed to Home Depot to walk around and price some of the things we will be wanting to purchase when the house is complete. We are looking to convert the room inside the front door to a home office, and want LOTS of shelves and drawers as we have more books, papers, software and computer stuff than your average bear. We found a website or two that we can play around designing our dream office. We also priced a couple carpet type items for the garage and vinyl areas of the house to help diminish the echo factor in those areas.
A quick trip to the grocery store on the way home for yet more milk and our “quick trip” ended up taking almost 6 hours.
OK, guess I’ll be doing homework tomorrow and Tuesday instead of today!
By the time we got home Hubby had one of his killer headaches, and has been liberally medicating himself trying to make it go away before the night of constant ringing and knocking starts. Since he is feeling under the weather, I will go out with the kids.
Said kids keep trying to talk us into letting them go out without a parent tonight. Not a chance. We definitely don’t need anything to happen tonight with them that would bring any more attention to our family than we are already getting. That and #2 has been asking for instructions on TPing for the past couple weeks, and quite frankly I just don’t trust him to go out tonight due to that.
While I admit that I did more than my share of TPing as a teen, while we are living on base we don’t need them to make their first foray into the world of harmless pranks. I reassured them that some day soon we would drive down to my brothers under the cover of night and TP his house.
Steve & Kathy, disregard that last paragraph.
Oh, for those unfortunate few who don't know what TPing is, take a look here, and no, this is not my handiwork.
