The Best Neighbor in the Whole World
Thu Sep 30 2004

I have a neighbor across the street who has a son about the same age as #3. We chit-chat from time to time, trade canned items and recipes, and engage in the typical neighbor stuff.

Ironically, her son is one of #3's best friends, and they live in the same house his best friend who moved away a year ago live in. Unfortunately they will be moving to Texas around the end of this month. Ah, the disadvantages of military housing neighborhoods... but I digress.

This neighbor, Jennifer, knows I'm in school and approaching my final. I've bemoaned the evils of calculus to her a time or two, and she offered a sympathetic ear to my mathematical woes.

Today when I got home from the library after about 4 hours of study (for which #3 was exceptionally good and kept busy and quiet for the entire time), she jogged across the street and handed me a small package. She had been at Target today, remembered I was coming up to my final, and bought me a box of Junior Carmels (like Junior Mints... but with carmel). How cool is that? Chocolate from out of no-where!

She will definitely be getting a couple jars of the Carmel Apple Butter!
