For anyone who may have read yesterday's entry "Sometimes A Man Gets It Right", it's a JOKE people, it is not something that actually happened.
Lighten up!

Now you're kidding, right? I thought it was hilarious and so did Rick! I forwarded it to Rick's stepmother and sister. GOOD joke!

Hee hee at the review. Well, you write well, and it doesn't matter what you write about, the fact that you write well makes it interesting reading. I do enjoy the dramas of a family, why else do people watch shows like 'Neighbours', 'Home and Away', and 'My wife and three kids'? It's all about the comedic presentation! :)

it is only one opinion allimom remember that faulkners sound and the fury was turned down by 40 publishers i mean if you are going to talk literary merit
i love your humour it is therapeutic in just the right place where we need it the most the heart of the family
i give myself 5 for not caring what number the reviewers assign to any journal i will enjoy what i enjoy
i give all reviewers 5 for exhibiting these wonderful journals that cross journal boundaries to everyone

Holy Cow Alli! Can WE review the reviewer who did such a bad job? Wow!
I agree with you, by the way, about including 'deep and meaningful' things in my diary. When it is a necessary point of an entry, I will, but other than that I already know how I feel about these things, and don't see the need to blab about them yet again.

I particularly like the "dead guy" on the hood of the car picture on the reviewer's site. I suppose it would be no surprise then that he doesn't care for pink. Way to keep an open mind though dude. lol

Hmmmm, blimey, I think the reviewer was English.
No wonder about the sense of humour then, mate.
A diary is a diary is a diary.
It is there for the purpose of recording your life, not for entertaining readers, including picky reviewers who critique using criteria that mean absolutely SFA.
Colour??? Whogivesashit?
I actually am puzzled about why people bother to have their diaries reviewed at all.
Take care and soldier on!

I wonder what offended him most..."the well built guys" or the "fence-swapping stories" (paraphrased). Poor baby...he must have had a difficult day. Write what you want and enjoy it.
"Duh!"... LOL!!

Blimey and Krikey and all that. I love the DD setup and also have taken a look around at other sites and not been overmuch impressed. This site does reflect the personalities of the writers and for me it is easy to use.
I'm not all into the idea of being reviewed because I write for a lot of the same reasons you do - not to impress anyone but record my every day thoughts and what is going on in my life. It is mostly a tool for my own growth and a HUGE bonus has been getting to know a very special group of people here. I never feel friendless, that's for sure!
Anyway - I give you a definite 5 out of 5.
Have a great day!

He hated the pink? I love pink. He doesn't like the DD set-up? Maybe, he isnt just familiar with it or he has no artistic inclination for graphics. Lol!

I'm offended about that review FOR you. First off, when I saw your new diary design (I know, I've been gone too long) I was impressed. It's very pretty, and bird houses are so "in", and it's still very readable. Seondly, I'm sorry that we don't all have such "important" lives to impress this snob! Children (although I don't have them myself) and family ARE the most important things in life. Maybe when your reviewer grows up they'll understand that.

Asking to have your diary "reviewed" is just asking for a problem. People who "review" others are often on a trip of feeling superior to others. You are going to be slammed. I would not want my dairy reviewed because a diary is supposed to be a place to express your feelings and there are no right or wrong ways to feel. It is the freedom to express yourself that makes this Dear Diary a worth while experience. If I had to write just to please other people, or edited myself all the time out of fear of a bad review I would not be showing my honest feelings. Nobody has the right to judge my feelings. If my thoughts are too boring for somone else then too bad. The feelings are true and not up for a debate. Having this diary is for my own benefit. I would never place it up for a review.

I have been missing out! I have been so busy the last few days I havent had time to read diaries.
Obviously reviewers cannot get an entire sense of someone in a few entries, but to funny how he thought your husband is a well mannered drunk! LOL
You know I went to other diary sites to check things out and I cant operate those! LOL This one is far from tricky.
Well...off to read more and try to catch up....on a closing note, if you ever get rid of those hunkylicious men on every page I am liable to go crazy. ;-)

To be honest, I'm rather hoping that this whole reviewing thing blows over sooner rather than later. Reviews encourage people to lose track of why they're writing a jornal to begin with (hopefull, it is to please themselves). I've seen too many bad reviews, and too many people hurt to be very enthusiastic about this process.

I wrote the comment after this one before reading this page. I can't believe someone would have the gall to write a critic like that. First, a critic should keep deep personal issues out of the picture. Your suppose to be impartial to your own leanings when criticing something. Second, I felt that critic was a personal attack not a diary quality critic. Writing style is what is suppose to be the issue of being judged, not content.
Good News: There is no such thing as bad advertising. I am staying...with my coffee in hand, that is.
