A Day In The Life

#1 came home from school today in a mood that was mixed between anger and disappointment. It seems his science teacher decided the project he wanted to do involving animal and plant cells was disapproved. The teacher did not give any reason, he just told #1 that he had to find a different project.

I ended up speaking with someone at the school a bit after that, and found a few things out. Evidently, this is the first year the Science Fair participation is mandatory for Freshmen. Someone in their infinite wisdom passed the word to the science teachers to assign this to the students, but then no definite guidelines were set. As I understand it, about half of the projects proposed by students have been rejected, so #1 is not alone in his frustration over this.

I personally want to find the person who unleashed this boondoggle on unsuspecting freshmen, and I would like to fully express my opinion and views on it using single syllable words and pictures if needed.

Can anyone out there explain how a mess like this could have been allowed to happen?
