Now What Am I Going To Do????
Mon Aug 30 2004

Since Hubby has been gone, I've been alternating taking the kids to school with me in the evenings. I make sure they have their Gameboy, laptop, book and all other sorts of items to keep them busy. So far, they have been angels, not being disruptive at all. That is now coming to a screeching halt, through no action or behavior of theirs.

It seems there was a complaint made about there being a child in the classroom. Now, get this... it was not made by anyone in my class.

Evidently there is another teacher in the building, who walked by the classroom, and noticed through the window that there was a child sitting in the back of the class working on a laptop. Now, this is not my teacher. The person making the complaint has never even come into the classroom. The person making the complaint has never (to my knowledge) even been in the vicinity of my child(ren) even in the halls during break or before/after class.

Yet the complaint was made, and now the boys can't go with me to class.

I'm now trying to figure out different ways to bribe/cajole/threaten/convince the boys, so they will leave each other alone, not fight, and not destroy the house.

Fortunately it should only be for this week that I have to do this. Maybe also next Tuesday, but I hope not since it is the night before their school starts. After that Hubby will be back, and I will be (hopefully) free and clear to attend class without worrying about the kids for the rest of this quarter.

I know you have special behavior problems. However at the ages they are now they really should be able to be left alone for a while. They have to mature sometime.

Oh gosh, Alli, what a pill! Sit the boys down and explain to them, they'll understand. In the meantime, glare at every teacher you see in case he/she was the one who complained. If the teacher of the course or the other students didn't have a problem with one of your sons being with you, nobody else should have.

Some people!! What possible reason could an outsider have to object to a child sitting quietly, minding his own business, causing no disruptions, and there with the persmission of the class instructor?

    Could the class instructor intervene?

E-gad, what utter nonsence! I would have been in to see the head of the dept before the dust had settled to explain the whys and wherefors. I could understand it if your instructor or a classmate was disturbed, but one has to wonder why anyone else would feel so threatened.

Good luck with this week. Maybe setting up a nice reward for good behavior will do the trick. Seems to me they worked pretty hard for that movie awhile back.
